There are without a doubt many gorgeous locations in Hawaii for Oahu beach wedding. Perhaps this is one of the primary reasons that Hawaii is ranked as the number one wedding location in the world!
Even though you can hardly go wrong when it comes to the perfect Oahu beach wedding location for your wedding, there are some basic principles to follow if you want to make your special day as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.
1.Select your beach location and then find a hotel within 15 minutes from your hotel. Traffic patterns are some of the worst in the U.S. on Oahu and visitors run a big risk of being late for their special day when attempting to drive across the Island to get to the wedding site.
2.Decide what time of day you want your wedding before selecting your beach location. Some beach sites are located on the western most part of the Island (the Leeward side) and are perfect for a sunset wedding such as Ko’olina’s Secret Beach. Others provide plenty of full grown palm trees for shade and would be perfect for a wedding cake set up (to keep the cake from melting in the sun) even in mid-afternoon-such as Wai’alae Beach.
3.Keep in mind that free parking is limited at some locations such as Secret Beach in Ko’olina, so if you have a large number of guests, make sure there is ample free parking available.
4.Many beach locations don’t have public restrooms so keep this in mind when planning your wedding day. For smaller beach wedding packages, the ceremony will last under an hour, so you may or may not need rest rooms, but for planning big weddings with lots of services that last well over an hour, you may want to be sure that your beach wedding location has public restrooms available.
5.Time of day has everything to do with how well your wedding photography turns out and some beaches offer more optimal lighting at specific time frames. Be sure to check with your Hawaiian wedding photographer to be sure your Oahu beach location is the best choice for the time of day you planned for your wedding.
When planning a destination wedding in Hawaii, it’s important to select a wedding planner who is knowledgeable about the local beach locations on Oahu.
